Sincere condolences to the Cox family. I got to know Zane through correspondence on our families. Zane's mother Alice Elam Cox and my Great Grandmother Laura Elam Cox were sisters. Zane was knowledgeable about our history. My family wish to express our deepest sympathy at this time. May God comfort you all and those who knew him.

Zane and I were Ship Mates aboard the USS Kawishiwi (AO-146) 1957 -1959. We lost touch for a few years but finally made contact. He was my friend and I will miss him.
