Glen H. Scheff, age 87, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 6:16am at the Fairhaven Community.
Glen was born on March 24, 1929 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Elmer G. and Faye (Wynkoop) Scheff, both of whom are deceased. He married Marilyn M. Walters on July 25, 1959 and she passed away on November 6, 1996.
Glen is survived by a daughter, Elaine “Sue” (Steve) Brown of Marion, Ohio, along with 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and his companion Sarah York of Upper Sandusky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, John, Robert and William Scheff, and a sister Fern Holdcraft.
Glen was a retired 2nd. Generation farmer having farmed in Wyandot and Crawford County. He was a graduate of Harpster High School and a longtime member of the Harpster United Methodist Church, where he served at one time on administrative council. He also was a member and past president of the Nevada Lions Club.
Glen was a veteran having served with the US Army during the Korean War.
For hobbies Glen enjoyed doing puzzles, and going daily to the Wyandot County Council on Aging in Upper Sandusky.
Funeral services for Glen H. Scheff will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Soo Hea Park officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Visitations will be on Saturday from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
