William L. Ramsey

William “Bill” Ramsey, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 10:43 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Bill was born in Fostoria, Ohio, on May 31, 1936, to Clarence Leland and Eva Marie (Notestine) Ramsey. He was first married to Pamala Reidling and is survived by his wife Gloria (Smith) Ramsey of Upper Sandusky.

Bill is also survived by his children, Bryan Ramsey of Texas, Renee (Jason) Snyder of Findlay, stepchildren, Brian Perrine, Dawn (Christopher) Hoeig, and Jennifer (Charles) Clouse, all of Tiffin, 13 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his brother Joseph Ramsey of Findlay.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Ramsey, and his sister Janet Ramsey.

Bill graduated from the Fostoria High School, class of 1954. He played the French horn and trumpet, and he sang in the church choir at Hope Temple. Bill went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps where he was a radio operator.

Bill was the accounts manager at WXML Upper Sandusky for many years. He enjoyed taking trips to Amish Country – especially during the fall to see the leaves changing color and going to Lake Erie. He also enjoyed going out to eat (especially to Tim Horton’s and Der Dutchman) often. Bill loved early mornings, and he was an avid fan of OSU and the Dallas Cowboys, and he loved movies.

Bill was a longtime member of Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky, and he trained to be a missionary and served in Japan.

A funeral service for William Ramsey will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Bill Williamson. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Garden in Tiffin, Ohio, where military graveside rites will be conducted by United Veterans Council of Seneca County.

Visitations will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the church on Wednesday, prior to the service.
