William David “Scurvey” McDaniel, age 64, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:05am at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
David was born on July 6, 1956 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Atley McDaniel, who is deceased. And his mother and step father, Elizabeth Gay (Mabry) and John Newman, both of whom are deceased.
He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay (David) Nguyen of Findlay. 3 granddaughers, Ella, Aubree, and Harper. 3 sisters, Marge (Chuck Daniels) Sink of Upper Sandusky, Jodi (Jeff) Barth of West Milton, Ohio, and Liz Newman of Fremont, Indiana. Along with 3 brothes, Ed (Kim) Newman, Jeff (Patti) Newman, and John “Sam” (Kim) Newman, all of Upper Sandusky, along with many nieces and nephews.
David was a 1974 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. After graduation, he had worked as a machinist for Midwest Tool, United Aircraft and Tower Automotive.
For hobbies he enjoyed going to car shows especially classic cars. He enjoyed spending time in Kentucky, sitting on his porch and visiting with friends. His greatest joy was to spend time with his family especially his granddaughters.
Funeral services for David McDaniel will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Steve Schertzer officiating.
Visitations will be held on Saturday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. The family requests that casual attire for the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Council on Aging, or the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
