Wanda Markley, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 2:35am at the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
Wanda was born on January 3, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to Orval J. and Mary Alice (Suter) Horn, both of whom are deceased. She married Joseph Frederick “Fred” Markley on July 3, 1954, and he survives.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Carla Peelman of Fostoria, and Linda (Charles) Messmer of Louisa, Kentucky. 3 grandchildren, Max (Shannon) Peelman of Streetsboro, Ohio, Sara Moore of Fostoria, and Joshua (Lindsey) Snider of Paintsville, Kentucky. Along with 10 greatgrandchildren and one great greatgrandchild.
Wanda graduated from Upper Sandusky High School and went on to work for Stecher Insurance Agency for over 26 years.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, and volunteered with the Christian Food Pantry and also Girl Scouts.
Wanda enjoyed knitting preemie baby blankets, outfits, and bootie sets for area hospitals, and was an avid reader.
A memorial service for Wanda Markley will be held at 2:00pm Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.
Visitations will be held at the church on Friday, 1 hour before service time.
