Sharon L. Mong, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.
Sharon was born on April 23, 1941 in Gettysburg, Ohio, to Richard Allen and Erma Eileen (Meadows) Young, both of whom are deceased. She married Ronald O. Mong on September 25, 1964 at the E.U.B. church in Union City, Ohio, and he passed away on August 5, 2018.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Kimberly Matheny of Columbus, Shelly (Tony) Secoy of Upper Sandusky, and Beth Riedlinger of Sycamore. 3 grandchildren, Aden Matheny, Nick Riedlinger and Seth Riedlinger and 3 great grandchildren, Hunter, Eli, and Bryson Riedlinger.
Sharon was a 1959 graduate of Gettysburg High School and was a faithful member of Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky, since the beginning of the church in 1984.
Sharon was a homemaker and retired after 25 years as a teacher’s aide for the multi-handicapped students in the Upper Sandusky School System.
For hobbies, she enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, reading and painting with acrylics.
Funeral services for Sharon Mong will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Monday, June 6, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home and 1 hour before service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot Memorial, or the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
