Sandra "Sandy" J. Clinger

Sandra “Sandy” J. Clinger, age 74, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at the Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ohio.

Sandy was born on July 9, 1946, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to John Fleck and Eileen (Lightner) Fleck-Zoll, both of whom are deceased.  She married David Clinger on July 21, 1973 at the John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, and he survives.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Jodi Troxel and Debi (Allen) Hardymon, both of Upper Sandusky. 5 grandchildren, Hannah (Devin) Kelly, Marissa (Charles Risser) Clinger, Josh Troxel, Emily (Mason Garmon) Troxel, Cory (Gloria) Hardymon, and 7 great-grandchildren, Eli and Noah Kelly, Collin Risser, Avery, Wyatt, Aeryn Troxel and Lane Garmon. Along with 2 sisters; Connie (Mike) Young, and Kathy (Ralph) Hart, both of Bucyrus.

Sandy was a nurse and worked at the Fairhaven Community for many years retiring in 2008. 

She was a 1964 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and also Tri-Rivers getting her degree in nursing. 

Sandy was a devoted member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky.

She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved it when her “babies” would come to visit her.

Funeral services for Sandy Clinger will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Conrad Sutter, OFM Conv officiating.  Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery in Marseilles.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, or St. Peter’s School and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
