Rosemary Stephan Jordan, 87, died on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Fox Run Manor in Findlay, Ohio.
Rosie was born on October 7, 1931 to George R and Hazel I (Althouse) Ellis in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
A graduate of Upper Sandusky High School in 1949, she attended the Ohio State University and Baldwin Wallace University. She married David E Stephan on August 4, 1952, and he passed away on November 27, 1981. She then married Wilbur F Jordan who died on March 18, 2001. She is survived by her sisters Anna Jane Ellis and Nancy Koehler, both of Findlay. She is survived by her children Georgia (Earl) Smith of Truckee, California, Ed (Penny) Stephan of Carey and Frank Stephan of Upper Sandusky, and her granddaughter Alivia (Michael) Blakley of Cleveland.
She was a home maker and manager of Ellis Lake. A member of John Stewart Methodist Church, she also attended St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Rosie was an excellent swimmer and diver and led Jazzercise and other exercise classes. She was a lifetime artist, crafter and quilter. While with the Wyandot Piecemakers Quilting Guild, she was instrumental in designing and producing the Wyandotte Indian Quilt on display in the Wyandot County
Courthouse. She spent many hours crafting and socializing at the Wyandot County Council on Aging Center.
Funeral services will be held at John Stewart United Methodist Church at 11:00AM on Friday, September 13, 2019 with Pastor Doug Pummell officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM and one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at John Stewart United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to John Stewart United Methodist Church or the Wyandot County Council on Aging in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
There will be sign language interpretation at the visitation and the funeral.
