Richard D. Reinhart, age 89, of Carey, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 12:45 am at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Richard was born on October 5, 1932, in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Thomas N. And Lucille Margaret (Fox) Reinhart, both of whom are deceased. He married Jean Taylor Turnbell on November 24, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, and she survives.
He is survived by a daughter, Judith Ann Orians of Mentone, Indiana. 2 grandchildren, Jason Lynn Ritter of Carey, and Kelly Jo Blair of Warsaw, Indiana, and 2 great-grandchildren, Grace Ann and Noah Aaron Luce.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, Harold Ritter, and a half-sister Deanna Louise who died in infancy.
Richard was a 1950 graduate of Carey High School and was a member of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey.
He worked for Swan Rubber in Carey for 19 years, and then Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria for 21 years.
For hobbies, Richard enjoyed playing golf with the senior league in Findlay, traveling to Hawaii with Jean for their 25th wedding anniversary, along with going to Austin Texas for their 50th wedding anniversary.
Along with going on trips with Jeannie, he enjoyed working on his yard and home and was an avid reader, thus was a frequent visitor at the Dorcas Public Library in Carey.
Funeral services for Richard D. Reinhart will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 2, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Cynthia Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 1, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
