Richard R. Brown

Richard R. Brown, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Marion General Hospital.

Richard was born on August 22, 1941, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Ralph and Freda (Bacon) Brown, residents of Wyandot County. He married Sue Curlis on August 22, 1964, in Upper Sandusky and she survives.

He is survived by two sons, Tim (Andrea) Brown of Westlake, and Lee Brown of Mount Vernon, along with two grandsons, Wade and Cole Brown.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Virginia Hicks.

He graduated from Mohawk High School in 1959 and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Heidelberg College. Richard continued his education receiving his master’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and his juris doctorate from Cleveland Marshall University.

Richard was successfully engaged in both the legal and educational fields for many years.  He returned to Wyandot County and completed both of these careers in Upper Sandusky.

He was a long time member of the John Stewart United Methodist Church.

A private graveside service for Richard R. Brown will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Betsy Bowen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John Stewart United Methodist Church or the Wyandot County Fair, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
