Priscilla W. Smythe, age 92, of Westerville, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
She was born to Donald and Frances Wright on May 24, 1929 in New Rochelle, NY. She was a 1947 graduate of Mamaroneck HS and a 1951 graduate of Simmons College. Upon college graduation she moved to Ohio to work as a Home Demonstration Agent in Wyandot County where she met her husband, Kenny Smythe. They married on November 6, 1954 in Larchmont, NY.
She is survived by four children: Brandt (Doanie Wright) Smythe of Dania Beach, FL; Nadine (Bruce) Hash of Westerville, OH; Sylvia (Jeff) Kellner of Sunapee, NH and Bruce (Kelly) Smythe of Sunapee, NH, along with eight grandchildren: Molly (AJ) Nagel, Will and Sara Hash; Josh (Anna) Kellner and Jennifer (Brett) Colburn; Tess, Gordy and Kate Smythe and great grandson Grayson Nagel.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenny, and a brother Ben.
She was active in Trinity UCC and volunteered at Fairhaven Retirement Community. Her hobbies included playing bridge, gardening, traveling, playing the piano and singing, baking, sewing, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12-2 PM Friday October 22 with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 P.M. at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, OH with grandson Josh Kellner officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice of Gahanna or the Wyandot County 4-H Endowment and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
The family has asked that masks be worn at the funeral home for services.
