Patricia Kay Packer

Patricia Kay Packer, age 71, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 10:02am at her home, on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Patricia was born in Marion, Ohio, on March 22, 1949, to George and Mary (Strasser) Hurley. She married James Edwin Packer on September 28, 1968 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, and he survives.

Patricia is also survived by her son, William James Packer of Findlay, her daughter, Karen Lee (Scott) Swanger, of Findlay, her two granddaughters; Shelby Nicole Swanger and Haley Kay Swanger, and two great granddaughters; Bella Edwards and Paisley Edwards. Patricia is also survived by two brothers; Michael (Paula) Hurley of McKinney, Texas, and John (Yoselda) Hurley, of Upper Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Thomas Hurley.

Patricia retired from Wyandot Memorial Hospital after 15 years and prior to that she had worked at Wyandot County Council on Aging and The Daily Chief Union.

She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and traveling with her husband and friends to various places around the country. She loved watching her family – from her Husband Jim, to her children play baseball and softball for many years, and she loved spending time with her granddaughters and great granddaughters.

A funeral service for Patricia Kay Packer will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and will be officiated by Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. and Deacon Kevin Winterstellar. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitations for Patricia will be held from 2:00pm – 8:00pm on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Due to Covid-19 face coverings will be required to attend services at the funeral home and the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter’s Catholic School or to Hospice of Wyandot County and can be sent to Lucas-Batton at 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
