Pat Bardon Obituary

Patsy J. Bardon, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:22am at the Ohio State East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Pat was born on October 31, 1937 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Cletus and Irene (Ross) Book, both of whom are deceased.  She married the love of her life, Calvin Bardon on June 24, 1956 in Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, and he survives. They shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.

She is survived by two daughters, Lori, (Tom) Byrd of Nevada, and Jane (Matthew) Smalley, of Upper Sandusky, five grandchildren, Jordan (Julia) Byrd of Buffalo, New York, Micah (Becca) Byrd of Nevada, Breanna (Craig) Romich, Jodi Smalley, and Mara Smalley of Upper Sandusky, along with eight great-grandchildren, Pace, Towns, and Rhynn Byrd, Tag, Crew, Charlotte, and Rowe Byrd, and Weslie Romich.

Pat is also survived by two sisters, Elaine (Jon) Grundtisch of Upper Sandusky, and Ginnie (Bobby) Everhart of Sun City, Arizona.

Pat was a 1955 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and during her school years she worked for Neumeister’s Bakery. Later she sold Fuller Brush products and worked at Hart’s Jewelry Store. She went on to obtain her real estate license, and began and brokered Pat Bardon Realty, Upper Sandusky, from 1978 until her retirement in 2009.  Pat enjoyed serving the community and was so appreciative of being able to be in business and represent so many homeowners, many of whom became her friends.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, where she and Cal chaired the Election Night Supper for many years.  Pat also was a member and past president of the Upper Sandusky Chamber of Commerce, and a past member of the National Association of Realtors, and the Women’s Council of Realtors. Pat and Cal enjoyed friendships, drives, and events as members in the Buckeye Miata Club in Columbus, Ohio.

Pat treasured her family and especially loved warm hugs. She enjoyed flower arranging and decorating her home for seasons and holidays. She and Cal enjoyed playing euchre with friends and family. Whether it was sharing pecan monkey bread for birthdays, making beef and noodles for our local firemen, or sending many special notes and birthday cards, Pat loved blessing others. She also threw the best “donut “parties” for family birthdays.
