Mollie Brinson Obituary

Mollie Jean Brinson, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at her home in Upper Sandusky.

 

Mollie was born on April 16, 1937, in Grayson, Kentucky, to Harry Collins and Virgie Olive (Davis) Shearer, both of whom are deceased. She married Vernon Brinson on May 10, 1968, in Upper Sandusky and he survives.

 

Mollie is also survived by her four children: Mike (Ina) Bowling of Columbus, Vickie (Sant) Dingus of Forest, Linda (Rob) Dapper of Galion, and Joe (Janet) Brinson of Centerburg, a daughter in law Christine Moses of Kirby, along with 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

 

She is survived by a sister, Sandy Leightey in Upper Sandusky.  

 

Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Douglas E. Moses, and her great granddaughter Jasmin Bowling, and a brother, Harry Shearer, and a sister Louise Schley.

 

She was a homemaker and also had worked for the former Westinghouse, Stoll Casket Company, Kimmel Corp., and the former Pamida store, all in Upper Sandusky.

 

Mollie was a member of Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion.

 

For hobbies, she enjoyed doing crafts, collecting glassware and cookie jars, and growing plants outside and inside, along with camping in her younger years.  She enjoyed her puppies through the years, and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mollie Jean Brinson will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Russell Howard officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Visitations will be held on Friday, September 3, from 5pm to 8pm and 1 hour before service time on Saturday at the funeral home. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Special Olympics and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH  43351.
