Mildred Franz Obituary

Mildred E. “Millie” Franz, 95, of Upper Sandusky, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, upper Sandusky, Ohio.

 

Born on April 5, 1925 in Carey, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late C. Raymond and Eulalia R. (Lamberjack) Lonsway.

 

Millie married Edward L. Franz on November 20, 1948 in Carey, Ohio.  He preceded her in death on October 16, 1991.

 

She is survived by seven children; Robert (Joan) Franz, Harrisburg, OR, Lawrence (Angie) Franz, Swanton, OH, Christina (Mike) Wetzel, Fremont, OH,  Thomas (Kathy) Franz, Kingwood, TX, Jean (Rex) Ballinger, Prospect, OH, Jane (Jim) Daniel, Rock Springs, WY and Joan (Brad) Batton, Carey, OH, 13 grandchildren; Layla Webb, Rose Franz, Nate Franz, Luke Franz, Linda Gregory, Sarah Eden, Dirk Franz, Drew Franz, Brett Ballinger, Colleen Ballinger, Kaydin Daniel,  Healy Woodard and Ian Batton, 9 great grandchildren,  3 great-great grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by four brothers; Eugene, William, James & Paul Lonsway and one sister, Rosemary Pratt.

 

She was a 1943 graduate of Carey High School.  She was a homemaker. She had worked at Wyandot Manor and retired from Wyandot County Skilled Nursing Home.

 

She was a member of Transfiguration of The Lord Church, Upper Sandusky and also the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Rosary Altar Society.

 

 

Due to COVID-19 all services will be private.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

 

Millie’s family would like to thank the staff at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care the past 7 years.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic School, and Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, and sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 South Sandusky Avenue, Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
