She was born in Upper Sandusky on September 11, 1929 to the late Elton E. and Susan C. Swihart.  She married Fred Ekleberry on April 26, 1947 in Kentucky.

Ekleberry of Canton, OH, and Anna E Ekleberry of Upper Sandusky, OH, one great-grandchild, Kaylee R. Ekleberry of Upper Sandusky, OH, and one brother Larry L. (Roxy) Swihart, Upper Sandusky, OH.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Fred, in 2013, three brothers Marvin, Eugene (Emily), and Melford (Susan), all of Upper Sandusky, and one grandson, Ian D. Ekleberry of Upper Sandusky, OH.

Mary was a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School in 1947 and was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical UMC in Upper Sandusky, OH.  She was a member of Wyandot Tracers and Wyandot Pioneer Families.  She was an employee of Timken Company in Bucyrus for 34 years, retiring in 1989.  Mary loved to golf and played in a women’s league through her 89th birthday.

She loved to feed and watch the birds in her backyard, especially the cardinals and yellow finches.  She looked forward to going out to lunch or dinner with her family.  Her cat “Mittens” was her constant companion over the last five years.
