Marilyn R. Thomas, age 87, of Harpster, and most recently of Upper Sandusky, passed away on August 16, 2023 at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
Marilyn was born on December 31, 1935 in Harpster, Ohio, to Paul and Majel (Childs) Myers. She married Robert “Bob” Thomas on November 15, 1952 at her parent’s home in Harpster, and he passed away on June 28, 2014.
She is survived by her children: Denny (Linda) Thomas of Harpster, Debbie Thomas of Upper Sandusky, Brad (Donna) Thomas of Harpster, Brandon Thomas of Upper Sandusky, Karen (Phil) Anderson of Harpster and Brenda Thomas of Upper Sandusky. Along with 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Along with a sister, Sara Gier of Upper Sandusky, and a brother,
Mike (Joan) Myers of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Kevin Thomas, grandson, Kevin Thomas and granddaughter Jennifer Karg, and a sister, Rosalyn Iles,
Marilyn was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Harpster United Methodist Church, and the Harpster Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Harpster Mother’s Club, Quilt Club, and the Board of Elections. For hobbies, she enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, sewing and quilting, oil painting, and vacationing in Michigan.
A memorial service for Marilyn Thomas will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Little Sandusky Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time on Tuesday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Lucas Batton Funeral Home.
