Mabel Virginia Mosman, age 96, formerly of rural Nevada, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky.
She was welcomed by Glen Robert “Bob” Mosman, her devoted husband of 55 years, brother Lewis Margraf, sister Mary Ekleberry and parents, Frederick and Grace (Bowers) Margraf. Left to cherish her memory are sons: Michael (Linda) Mosman, Joe (Bruce) Mosman, daughter, Ann (Ed) Mossbruger; grandchildren, Michelle Bailey, who she was blessed to help raise, Edan Mossbrugger, Parker Mosman, and Stephanie Mosman, along with 5 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Alice King, and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A tiny little one born November 2, 1926, Mabel was “Babe” to her parents and siblings. She graduated from Sycamore High School, attended Tiffin Business School and worked briefly for Ohio Power Company before marrying her sweetheart, Bob Mosman, on June 6, 1948. She was a lifelong member of the former Eden Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mabel enjoyed reading, gardening with Bob, baking and watching Jeopardy. She loved her dogs and her dad’s draft horses. She kept an immaculate home, well-manicured flower beds, yard and garden. She made the smoothest applesauce and the best Christmas cookies. She had a legendary sweet tooth especially for Hershey bars and doughnuts. She kept a scrapbook of newspaper clippings and keepsakes of extended family members, always proud of their accomplishments. Mabel held all family and friends closely in her prayers.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice of Wyandot Memorial and can be sent to Lucas Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
