Lois A. Walker, age 85, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Manor of Greendale in Findlay, Ohio.
Lois was born on August 17, 1937 in Grayson, Kentucky, to Albert and Mary (Halterman) Swanagan, both of whom are deceased. She was once married to Paul Kouns, and he passed away, then she married James Walker, and he also passed away.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Frank) Oliver of Rayville, Louisiana, Martha (Mike) Gossman of Upper Sandusky, Mary (Michael) Warren of Columbus, and Paula (Richard Leeth) Treadway of Upper Sandusky. 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren also survive.
Lois is survived by 3 brothers, Bruce (Nedra) Swanagan of Union City, Indiana, and Tom (Erleen) Swanagan of Cleveland, and Albert (Brenda) Swanagan Jr. of Grayson, along with 4 sisters, Lucy (Greg) Porter, and Mary Cooper, both of Grayson, Patty (Dave) Tennihill of Upper Sandusky, and Pauline Mathis of Bucyrus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a daughter, Charlotte Kouns, 3 brothers, Bob, Orville and Jim Swanagan and 2 sisters, Norma Swartz and Nannette Atkins.
Lois was a homemaker and a certified drug and alcohol counselor having worked at the Crestline Hospital for many years.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical in Upper Sandusky, and a former member of Church of God. She was a member and active of AA and Celebrate Recovery.
Lois will be remembered for her loving and giving spirit, especially helping those on the road to recovery.
Funeral services for Lois Walker will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, 2 hours before the funeral service, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home.
