Lois J. Lucas, age 93, of Frostproof, FL, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Groves Center in Lake Wales, FL.
Lois was born in Wyandot County, Ohio, on June 23, 1930, to George and Jenny (Hoffman) Armbruster and they preceded her in death. She was married to Robert “Gene” Lucas in Upper Sandusky, on September 1, 1948, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2010.
Lois is survived by 2 sons, Michael (Judy) Lucas of Harpster, and Douglas Lucas of Upper Sandusky, 7 grandchildren: Corrine (Adam) Broyles, Kathryn Lucas, Erin (Derick) Winegarner, Courtney Lucas, Jesse Lucas, Samantha Kolodge, and Angela Kolodge, along with 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Lois is also survived by her sister, Wilma Greenwood of Frostproof, Florida, and her son-in-law Mick Kolodge.
Lois was also preceded in death by her son Jon P. Lucas, daughter Patricia Kolodge, and 7 siblings: Richard Armbruser, Robert Armbruster, Helen Johnson, Anabelle Everette, Dorothy Beaston, Mary Rivero, and Marjorie Lawrence.
Lois graduated from Nevada High School in 1948, where she was a cheerleader. She worked at Millington Plastics, and then Westinghouse/A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky for over 20 years until her retirement.
She moved to Florida with her husband Gene to enjoy their retirement, and she was very involved at Church where she sang in the choir. For hobbies, Lois loved sewing and would sew clothing for herself and her family. She enjoyed square dancing with Gene, playing the piano, and she enjoyed tending to her flowers.
A funeral service for Lois Lucas will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the funeral home.
