Linda King Smith, age 77, of Litchfield, Connecticut, and formerly of Nevada, passed away on December 1, 2020 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington, CT.
Linda was born on February 6, 1943 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Clayton and Evelyn (Guthman) King, both of whom are deceased. She married Arthur Smith on May 30, 1987 and he survives in Litchfield.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara (Donald) Orewiler of Bucyrus, brother in law, Ronald Cover of Bucyrus, along with 2 nieces and 2 nephews, along with her stepchildren, James, David, Linda and Kathryn.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandra Cover.
She was a 1961 graduate of Nevada High School and went on to the Marion Beauty Academy and soon after became a licensed beautician. After operating her own beauty shop in Upper Sandusky for many years, Linda became an inflight attendant with TWA. She then accepted the position as supervisor of international flight attendants with TWA.
Linda continued her education graduating from the New England School of Art & Design, and after that began restoring her pre-revolutionary home on Asher Tharpe farm in Litchfield. The farm was purchased to grow and market conifer trees.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Litchfield, and a former member of the Nevada Lutheran Church.
A graveside service for Linda K. Smith will take place at 11:00 am Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Nevada Cemetery with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating.
