Kerry Lynnette “Sissy” Eaches 1966-2023 NEVADA, OH –
You may not have noticed, but on November 26 at 11:16pm the moon dimmed for a fraction of a microsecond and Heaven grew that much brighter as Kerry Eaches, 57, our mom, mawmaw, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family ending her brave 5-year battle with cancer.
Kerry was born on March 30, 1966 in Bucyrus, OH to James and Linda Rittenberry. Kerry grew up in Ohio and Florida. Kerry never liked the sand between her toes, so at 18, she packed up her things and left the sandy beaches and Florida sunshine in her rearview mirror and headed back to the big city of Nevada, OH. There Kerry would have 2 children, Tyson and Tiffany.
Kerry loved to spend weekends at Tyson and Amanda’s grilling out, singing karaoke as loud as she could with Tiffany and watching the grandchildren swim and play. Kerry made many wonderful memories back porch sittin’ with her children. Through her many struggles, she loved being a mom and thrived on being a mawmaw. Karsen, Blake and Azaylah were Kerry’s pride and joy.
Kerry enjoyed her work at Maple Crest and Carlisle Place Assisted Living. She loved the residents and liked to laugh with her coworkers. Kerry had a special relationship with her Aunt Freed, they were like Thelma and Louise. Freed was an excellent caregiver and mother figure to Kerry. Sissy would say Freed was more than an aunt, she was a best friend. You would often find Kerry enjoying a glass of water while hanging out with her dear cousin Sareena. Sissy had a special place in her heart for her baby sister Annie, who would be her voice and safety on days she did not have the words. Kerry spent the last month traveling, spending time with extended family, playing with Tyden, napping with Buckeye and living a lifelong wish of seeing a concert live in Las Vegas. Kerry loved her peaceful surroundings in Utah with Annie and her brother-in-law Chris, whom she loved dearly.
Kerry was always so beautiful, even if she didn’t see it herself. She was kindhearted and never spoke ill of anyone. She loved holidays, decorating her home, dogs, McDonalds Coffee, and anything purple. We hope there is Netflix in heaven because The Blacklist and Hallmark Channel were her favorites! Kerry did not complain or share her battles with everyone. She did not want to burden others all the while she endured unrelenting treatments and hospital stays. Kerry will be remembered for her ginormous heart and beautiful smile. To live life without Kerry seems like an impossible task, but our love for her and memories with her will sustain us until we meet again.
Kerry is preceded in death by her parents, James Rittenberry and Linda Holter. Her grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. Kerry is survived by her children Tyson (Amanda) Browning, Tiffany Eaches, 3 grandchildren – Karsen, Blake and Azaylah, Brothers Doug Rittenberry, Greg (Michele) Rittenberry (both of FL) and sister Annie (Chris) Madsen (Utah), 5 nephews, 4 great nephews, 1 great niece and her life love Dave Nolan and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
To the wonderful doctors, nurses and aides at James Cancer Hospital, Dr Kari Kendra, Dr Roy Harris & staff, Hospice of Wyandot County, Canyon Hospice (UT); we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary care you gave, and kindness extended to her family. You helped Kerry fight to overcome the odds, giving her more time to enjoy life and her family. To the management/staff at Carlisle Place, thank you for your continued support and love of Kerry, through her difficult days, you are the reason she made it to work. HUGE THANK YOU to ONE WISH of Cache County for sending sissy on a dream trip to see Keith Urban in Las Vegas.
"In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky, In my heart, there will always be a place for you, for all my life I'll keep a part of you with me, And everywhere I am, there you'll be."
