John L. Sullivan

John L. Sullivan, age 64, of Nevada, passed away unexpectedly at 12:42 PM on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Galion Hospital.

John was born on May 1, 1959, in Bucyrus, Ohio,  to parents,  John L. Sullivan, and Jo Ann and her husband, (Larry W. “Buck”)  Sand.  John married Judy Ann Lyons on February 16, 1980, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Bucyrus, Ohio.

John is also survived by his wife Judy, mother Jo Ann Sand, both of Nevada, and children; Rick Horsley of Bucyrus, Nichole (Luke) Winningham of Midlothian, VA, and John Sullivan II of Nevada.  5 grandchildren, Addison, Paelyn, Alexa, Lilly, and Lauren, 3 great grandchildren, Carter, Gabby, and Anthony, along with 2 brothers,  Mike Sullivan of Sycamore, and Brian (Anna Phillips) Sand of Nevada, and 2 sisters, Laura (Gilbert) Bucher, and Brenda Sand, both of Nevada.

John graduated from Wynford High School in 1977, and he managed Bucks Place for many years, where he continued his love for cooking by sharing his creations with his customers.

John enjoyed riding motorcycle, going camping, and cooking. He also enjoyed music and singing karaoke, and most of all, spending time with his family, friends and grandkids.

A visitation for John Sullivan will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
