Jean Ann Kin, age 82, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 1:00 AM at Westbrook Assisted Living & Memory Care in Upper Sandusky.
Jean Ann was born in Fostoria, Ohio, on March 22, 1939, to Raymond and Esther (Wagner) Hark, and they preceded her in death. She was married to Kenneth D. Kin Sr., on January 9, 1960, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2017 after 57 years of marriage.
Jean Ann is survived by three children: Cheryl (Steve) Sandridge of Morral, Debra Kin of Upper Sandusky, and Sandra Dee Kin of Lewis Center, daughter in law Marcie Kin, four grandchildren: Kory and Jordan Kin, RaKay (Shawn) Dunlap, and Cale Sandridge, and one great granddaughter, Nora Rose Dunlap.
Jean Ann is also survived by her brother Mike (Rita) Hark of Lima, and three sisters: Rosie (Richard) Nye of Alvada, Carolyn Loudenslager of Tiffin, and Kathryn Barger of New Riegel.
Jean Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Kenneth D. Kin Jr., and Kevin D. Kin.
Jean Ann graduated from New Riegel High School in 1957 where she was class Salutatorian. She was a homemaker, raising her five children, and four grandchildren. She then went on to work at St. Peter’s Catholic School in the Library. She loved sewing, for which she won several scholarships and awards. She also sewed for everyone in her family and the community.
Jean Ann had a love of music – especially Elvis Presley, and she loved dancing. She was a caregiver for her parents in their later years, and she was an active member of Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, where she served as a greeter.
Family was extremely important to Jean Ann. She did everything with love and she was a very giving person.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Father Conrad Sutter, OFM Conv. and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitations for Jean Ann will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 24th, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
