Janet Mary Lantz, age 82, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 10, at 10:52 am at her home in Nevada.
Mary was born on December 3, 1940, in Marseilles Township, Wyandot County to Robert and Mildred (Young) Wells. She married Chuck Lantz on April 13, 1962, in Upper Sandusky, and he survives in Nevada.
She is survived by a son, Scott Lantz of Nevada, and a daughter, Audra (Gary) Riedlinger of Nevada, along with 3 grandchildren, Steven (Kim) Lantz of Port Orchard, Washington, Sarah Lantz of Nevada, and Lance (Abby Haner) Riedlinger of Kenton, and many close friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Oscar O’Brien, and three sisters, Shelby Wells, Rosie Heffelfinger, and Peg Moll, and a special nephew, Brad Moll.
She was a homemaker and co-owner of the former Lantz’s Marathon in Nevada.
Mary was a 1958 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and a member of the Nevada Lutheran Church. She also was one of the original volunteers of the Nevada EMS, and also was a member of the Nevada Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
For hobbies, she enjoyed reading, especially anything about the Amish, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mary Lantz will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, August 20, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Lee Blair speaking.
Calling hours will be held 2 hours before service time, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, on Sunday at Lucas Batton in Upper Sandusky.
