Francis John "Fran" Mueller

Francis John “Fran” Mueller, of Marion, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was 62 years old.

Fran was born on October 21, 1960, in Jamesville, New York, to Francis and Gertrude (Curtis) Mueller. Fran was married to Kristen M. Paul on September 1, 1984, in Syracuse, New York, and she survives in Marion, Ohio.

Fran is also survived by his two daughters, Katherine (Scott) Baron of Cincinnati, OH, and Hillary (Robert) Bendle of Chicago, IL, his sisters Judy Rogers and Elizabeth (Peter) Crump, and brothers Jimmy (Margaret) Mueller, Matt Mueller, and Andy Mueller, along with many in laws, and nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Fritz Mueller.

Fran was a graduate of Jamesville DeWitt High School, Morrisville College, Cornell University, and received his master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. He was an ardent supporter of Kalmbach Feeds for the past 33 years. He loved research, his coworkers, dairies, and producers.

Fran was a farmer at heart, and in his free time, he loved working in his garden, woodworking, and he was an excellent cook. He loved sports and watching Syracuse Basketball.

Visitations for Fran will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

A funeral mass for Fran will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Holy Cross Church in DeWitt, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Syracuse, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Dairy Science Association for the Foundation Scholarship Program for Dairy Production, and may be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
