Florence N. Amos, age 89, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 4:56am with her family surrounding her bed, in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
Florence was born on August 11, 1932, in Marion County, Ohio, to Frank and Ethel (Shiera) Phillippi, both of whom are deceased. She married Arthur Amos on July 9, 1953 and he passed away on June 21, 1993.
She is survived by a daughter, Christine Allison of LaRue, Ohio, and a son, David Amos of Upper Sandusky. 4 grandchildren, Jason Allison, Rachel (Jason) Gillespie, Brittany (Justin Lambrite) Amos, and Morgan Amos, along with 4 great grandchildren, Shelby (Dakota) Spanfellner, and Destiny and Mackenzie Allison, and Nora Kay Amos.
Florence is also survived by a sister, Martha Hall of Jacksonville, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter in law, Sandra Amos, along with her 5 brothers, Carl, Herbert, Chester, Lester, Willard and a sister Opal Sessler.
She was a homemaker and a 1952 graduate of Galion High School.
Some of her passions were baking, and she was especially known for her delicious pumpkin roll. She also enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Florence’s greatest love was to spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Florence Amos will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time on Friday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home.
