Evelyn J. Dennison - Swerline

Evelyn J. Dennison-Swerline, age 82, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of North Robinson, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 5:05pm at the Powell Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Evelyn was born on February 6, 1938 in Hancock County, Ohio, to Wilbur and Laverne (Benjamin) Wilson, both of whom are deceased.  She was married to Richard “Dick” Dennison on July 14, 1956 and he passed away on June 2, 2009.  She then married Gerald Swerline and he survives in Upper Sandusky.

She is survived by her four sons: Mike (Shari) Dennison of Galion, Mark (Kathy) Dennison of Powell, Jim (Tricia) Dennison of Buffalo, New York, and Tim (LuAnn) Dennison of Cincinnati.  Eight grandchildren: Drew (Megan), Darek (Katrina), Danelle (Cody), Brittany, Sean (Emily), Hannah (Kieran), and Leah, Aaron (Kiley), along with 14 great grandchildren.

Evelyn is also survived by a step-brother, Bob Wilson of Findlay, sisters, Mary Brayton of Findlay, and Linda McDonald of Gibsonburg, Helen (Paul) Summit of Upper Sandusky, and Dortha Myers of Darien, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brothers, Richard Wilson, Harvey Wilson, and sisters, Helen Hickle, Marilyn Barnett. 

Evelyn was a homemaker, and worked for 20 years for General Electric in Bucyrus.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky.

Evelyn was a 1956 graduate of Carey High School where she was a cheerleader.

Public visitations for Evelyn Dennison-Swerline will be held on Friday, February 5, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

The funeral service will be private with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating with burial at Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
