Edward “Eddie” F. Kuenzli, age 83, Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his home in Upper Sandusky.
Eddie was born on July 19, 1937 in Upper Sandusky to Galen and Esther (Lambrite) Kuenzli, both of whom are deceased. He was once married to Nancy Eippert, and is now survived by his loving fiancée Addie Ohl.
He is survived by children: Mark (Karen) Kuenzli of McCutchenville, Mike “Rooster” (Rhonda) Kuenzli of Upper Sandusky, Julie Kuenzli White of Pataskala, Ohio, Tina (Dan) Myers of Ohio City, Ohio, and William (Trenna) Ohl of Upper Sandusky. 9 grandchildren: Ian Kuenzli, Emily Fredritz, Ira Kuenzli, Evan Kuenzli, David Myers, James Myers, Brian Myers, William Dalton Ohl, and Gavin Wagner, along with 2 great grandchildren, Mallory and Kyla Fredritz.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Moran.
He was a 1955 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and served the US Army Reserves for 6 years.
Eddie retired in 2008 from serving Wyandot County as a County Commissioner for over 14 years. Before that he had worked for 43 years for Sammet Trucking in Upper Sandusky.
He was a member of the Emanuel United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky. He served on the Ohio State Board of Commissioners, life member and past exulted ruler of the BPOE #83 in Upper Sandusky, AMVETS Post #777 where he served as past commander and currently was a trustee, American Legion Post #225, and the Moose Lodge #1093, and the Warpole Lodge #176 F&AM, all in Upper Sandusky.
Eddie also was a longtime member of the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Auxiliary, and also represented Pitt Township in Wyandot County for the Republican Party. He also served on the Wyandot County Veterans Service Commission.
For hobbies he enjoyed collecting antique equipment and trucks that he acquired all over the United States, and loved to display his 1952 Kenworth truck at various shows.
Funeral services for Edward F. Kuenzli will be held at 11:00am Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Jay Scott officiating. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sycamore where military graveside rites to be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, September 2, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with an Elks Memorial Service to be held at 7:45pm on Wednesday. The family has suggested casual attire for the visitation and service.
