Dorothy B. Pagnard, age 92, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 3:45 a.m. at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.
Dorothy was born on August 10, 1927, in Upper Sandusky to Thomas M. and Louise (Tschanen) Bowman. Dorothy married Karl L. Pagnard on March 24, 1951, in Upper Sandusky, and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2009.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Scott (Laura) Pagnard of Upper Sandusky and two daughters, Patricia (Larry) Niederkohr of Upper Sandusky and Helen (Randy ) Wheat of Ft. Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren, Tschanen (Michael) Brandyberry, Tricia (Drew) Rall, Melissa (Scott) Baker, Audrey, Olivia and Ivy Thomson; and seven great-grandchildren; Hannah and Maddux Brandyberry; Atlee, Grant, Emery and Briar Rall; and Parker Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Thomas Bowman, and two sisters, Alice Nye and Martha Bowman.
Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of Wooster in 1949. After college she worked at Harpster Bank and then Commercial Savings Bank in Upper Sandusky. She, along with her husband Karl, owned and operated Karl’s Restaurant and then Karl’s Golf Club.
She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Upper Sandusky.
Funeral services for Dorothy B. Pagnard will be private with the Rev. Ken Wessler officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
There will be no public visitations to protect everyone’s health from the COVID-19 pandemic.
