Don E. Beck

Don E. Beck, age 94, of Morral, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Ohio Health Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Don was born on May 15, 1927 in Marion County, Ohio, to Samuel and Goldie (Neff) Beck.   He married Z. Gale Rasey on August 4, 1945 and she passed away on September 6, 2011.

He is survived by a son, Michael (Sue) Beck of Mt. Gilead, Ohio. 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 6 great greatgrandchildren also survive, along with a son in law, Robert Ferguson of Marion, and a special nephew, Terry Green of San Francisco, California.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Donna Ferguson, and 2 sisters, Merna Rizor and Nyla Green.

Don was retired having worked as an engineer for the former Ohio American Water Company in Marion.

Don was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army, and was a faithful member of the Grand Prairie Baptist Church, and before that a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Marion.

He enjoyed traveling, and camping with his wife Gale, and also raising their Boston Terriers, and building wind chimes.  He also was a “Mr Fixit”, having the ability to fix almost anything, which he did for his family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Grand Prairie Cemetery with Pastor Ed Goodwin officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army of Marion, or Grand Prairie Baptist Church and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Fran Giles and her family for all of their care and support of Don during the last few years, which made it possible for him to remain in his home.
