Dennis G. Blackburn, age 67, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Denny was born on September 28, 1952 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to father, Bill N. Blackburn, and mother, Norma Jane (Traxler), both of whom are deceased. He is survived by his step- mother, Viola V. (Snyder) Blackburn of Upper Sandusky. He married Millie M. Clark-Spradlin on April 20, 1991 at Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. and she survives in Nevada.
Denny is also survived by his son Isaac Blackburn of Florida, two step sons David (Mary) Spradlin of Nevada, and Douglas Spradlin of Upper Sandusky, and a special daughter, Jenny Craft of Nevada. Four grandchildren: Jacob, Timothy, James and Craig, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Jon (Jill) Blackburn of Upper Sandusky, and four sisters: Patty (Sam) of Derugen of Pennsylvania, Rosie May of Nevada, Jo Lynn Walters of Marseilles, and Anita Kear of Harpster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Daniel and a sister Jan Sue.
Denny graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in the class of 1970 and went on to serve in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
He retired from Uni-Grip in Upper Sandusky after 30 years.
Denny was a member of Victory In Truth Ministries in Bucyrus, American Legion Post #225 and a lifetime member of Amvets Post #777, both in Upper Sandusky.
He also leaves behind his 3 Chihuahuas: Starr, Moondoggie and Molly.
Due to current restrictions on gatherings services will be private with burial taking place at Nevada Cemetery with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Honor Color Guard.
