Daniel Lee Obituary

Daniel E. “Pops” Lee, age 71, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

 

Daniel was born on February 16, 1949 in Findlay, Ohio, to Arthur D. and Donna M. (Needles) Lee.  His father is deceased and his mother is living in Findlay.  He married Karen Swinehart on January 6, 1978 and she survives.

 

Daniel is survived by a son Scott (Darcy) Washburn of Upper Sandusky, 5 grandchildren: Isaiah and Cory Washburn, Cassie Shuff, Trey Washburn and Ethan Washburn.  Along with 2 brothers: Dean (Karol) Lee of Findlay, and Ed Lee of Jacksonville, FL.

 

He was preceded in death by a son Cory Washburn,

a sister Jane who died in infancy.

 

Daniel retired after over 45 years from Whirlpool in Findlay having worked in a variety of departments through the years.

 

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lion’s Club in Upper Sandusky, and participated for many years with the Carey Ecumenical Choir.  He was a member Moose Lodge #1093 in Upper Sandusky. 

 

Daniel graduated from Carey High School in 1967 and went on to graduate from Statzenberger College in Toledo with an associate degree in drafting.

 

For hobbies Daniel enjoyed mowing his yard, NASCAR and Sprint racing, following the Browns, Indians, Cav’s and the Buckeyes.  Along with following his grandchildren’s sporting and musical events.

 

Funeral services for Daniel E. “Pops” Lee will be private with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.  Burial will be at Old Mission Cemetery. 

 

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date as soon as the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic are lifted.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Youth and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
