Connie Ann (Thiel) Spitler

Connie Ann Spitler, age 66, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Connie was born on May 26, 1955, in Upper Sandusky, to Richard “Dick” and Katie (Gottfried) Thiel, and married Steven M. Spitler on October 1, 1971, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. Steve preceded her in death on October 4, 2019, after 48 years of marriage.

Connie is survived by her two children: Jeremy (Mandi) Spitler of Upper Sandusky, and Jocelyn Lehnhart of Nevada, and five grandchildren: Jared and Jakob Lehnhart, Jenna Spitler, Harley Shaum, and Tori Spitler. Connie is also survived by her mother Katie Thiel, 2 brothers; Bob (Bonnie) Thiel, Larry (Debbie) Thiel, sister Chris (Kip) Johnson all of Upper Sandusky.

Connie was preceded in death by her father Richard “Dick” Thiel, and her son in-law, Jeremy J. Lehnhart.

Connie was a 1973 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to work at Thiel’s Wheels with her husband from 1978 to 2006.

Connie loved spending time at the Lake with her family, and enjoyed spending time outside tending to her flowerbeds.

A celebration of life gathering for Steve and Connie Spitler will be held from 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Thursday, January 6, 2021, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
