Christina A. Johnson, age 51, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.
Chris was born on April 20, 1970, to Richard “Dick” Thiel, who is deceased, and Kathlyn “Katie” (Gottfried) Thiel, who survives in Upper Sandusky. She married Kip Johnson on February 22, 1992, at the First Lutheran Church and he survives.
She is survived by her children, her pride and joy: Cole (Kara) Johnson, Kalene Johnson, Anna Johnson, and her much adored granddaughter, Cali Mae Johnson, all of Upper Sandusky.
Chris is also survived by her 2 brothers, Bob (Bonnie) Thiel and Larry (Debbie) Thiel, both of Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her father Dick, and her sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Steve Spitler.
Chris was a 1988 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and recently worked in the admissions office of the University of Findlay. Many may remember Christina as a friendly face at Huntington Bank or the physical therapy department at Wyandot Memorial. She was a life member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church.
Christina was a devoted mother, friend, and wife. Her life was centered around her family, and she loved spending time with them, whether it was following their activities through school, or being a part of the new seasons of their life. Those that knew Christina will remember her kind heart, sense of humor, and her ability to always put others before herself. She will be deeply missed by many.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 4, 2022, at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Conrad Sutter OFM conv., and Deacon Kevin Winterstellar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 3, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
