Charles Eugene “Gene” Noggle, age 93, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
Gene was born on May 25, 1930 in Crawford County, Ohio, to Frank and Carrie (Johnson) Noggle, both of whom are deceased. He married Marilyn Lawrence on July 30, 1981 and she survives.
He is survived by his children, Laura Andrews of Ostrander, Craig (Tammy Spencer) Noggle of Westerville, Paula (John Bondelier) Berry of Perrysburg, and Beth (John) Kelley of Marion; grandchildren, Jarrod (Sandra) McCown, Joshua Berry, John (Christine) Berry, Jenny (David) Boyce, Cassie (Travis) Knight, and Amanda Wilson; 10 great grandchildren; brother in law Jerry (Pam) Lawrence; nieces and nephews,
Nicole (Eric) Morris, Jordan (Lisa) Lawrence, Logan (Katja) Lawrence; and 7 Great nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Eleanor Graves, and Sandra Easterday.
Gene was a retired public administrator with the County of Delaware and the State of Ohio. He served as a Thompson Township Trustee, Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities, secretary for the Delaware County Firefighters Association, and founding member of the Radnor Township Fire Department.
He graduated from Delaware Willis High School in 1948, and went on to attend Miami University in Ohio. Gene enlisted in the US Navy, and served from 1948-1952.
For hobbies Gene enjoyed fishing in Canada and the US., golfing, and RV traveling throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. His volunteer work included Habitat for Humanity. He maintained ties with classmates from his High School class of 1948 throughout his life.
Funeral services for Gene Noggle will be private.
