Bonnie L. (Giles) Couch

Bonnie L. Couch, age 71, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 4:28pm at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Bonnie was born on June 17, 1950 in Marion, Ohio, to Rev. Dalesford and Pauline (Balduf) Giles, both of whom are deceased.  She married Berford Couch on September 5, 1971 in the Harpster United Methodist Church and he survives.  They recently were able to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

She is survived by 2 children, Cory (Thersa) Couch, and C. S. Couch, along with 2 grandchildren, Paris and Ascher Couch.

Bonnie is also survived by her 3 brothers, Darwin (Louise) Giles, Alan (Rosemary) Giles, Terry (Laura) Giles, and 3 sisters, Elaine Kaye (Frank) Comer, Marlane Gaye (Stephen) Wagner.

Bonnie attended the Ft. Wayne Fine Arts Institute, and through the years she had worked at Victoria’s Beauty Salon, where she styled wigs. She also worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell, and also as a Nurses’ Aide for the Fairhaven Community, and Wyandot Memorial Hospital, and as a surgery assistant for a podiatrist.  She also taught art for the former Wyandot Christian Academy in Harpster, and also obtained her licensed as an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church.

Her hobbies included designing and painting back drops for elementary school programs and church programs; painting wall murals for elementary schools and friends; painting and restoring antique clock faces, columns, and reverse painting on glass clock doors; painting antique megaphones for phonographs; toll and craft painting; reading and Sudoku puzzles.

Funeral service for Bonnie L. Couch will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and will be officiated by Chaplain Steve Sturgeon. Burial will follow at Little Sandusky Cemetery.

Visitations will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, November 22, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
