Bill Griswold

William “Bill” E. Griswold, age 69, passed away peacefully at 6:50am on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at his home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Bill was born on October 10, 1951, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Edward and Mary Alice (Lucas) Griswold and they preceded him in death. He married Deb Boes on November 28, 1975, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky and she survives.

Bill is also survived by his son Cory (Anna) Griswold of Upper Sandusky, his daughter Dawn (Kurt O’Flaherty) Griswold of Carey, four grandchildren: Olivia, Bailey, Katie, and Wyatt, along with three brothers: Tom Griswold, Alan Griswold, and Mark (Karen) Griswold, all of Upper Sandusky.

Bill graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1970 and went on to work at Engineered Wire Products for 42 years until he retired in 2014.

He was the former Union Steward for Teamsters Local 40, a member of the Wyandot County Rod & Gun Club, and a former member of the Wyandot Classics and Cruisers. Bill loved spending time with his family and enjoyed spending the past two winters in Florida. He also enjoyed going to car shows, fishing, following the Detroit Tigers and The Ohio State Buckeyes, and playing Push Rummy with friends (family) in the Kuenzli home.

A funeral service for Bill Griswold will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 11:00am at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and will be officiated by Rev. Betsy Bowen and Pastor Cynthia Morrison. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 3:00pm – 5:00pm and from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the funeral home.
