Betty E. Needs, age 100, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away early the morning of Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Upper Sandusky.
Betty was born on Christmas Day 1922 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Edward and Elsie (Walton) Neate. She married David J. “Bud” Needs on June 6, 1942 in small wedding. Bud and Betty were married for 51 years before he passed away on the 8th of September 1993.
She is survived by her two sons: Jim (Bonnie) Needs, and Tom (Janel) Needs both of Upper Sandusky. Seven grandchildren: Nancy Needs, Julie (Jack) Grunden, Jennifer (Kurt) Homburg, Laura Needs, Ed (Kenzie) Needs, David (Laura) Needs, and Daniel (Deidre) Needs, along with 15 great grandchildren: Luke, Claire, and Nora Grunden, Katherine and Matthew Homburg, Cameryn, Ella, and Elijah Needs, Abram, Jonah and Simon Needs, Porsche, Nicolette, Celeste, and Lincoln Needs.
Betty was a 1939 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and attended Tiffin Business College.
She was a homemaker, assisted with the family farm, and was an active community member. Betty was a longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and also served on various church committees. Betty served as a longstanding volunteer at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Betty was also a member of the Usando Literary Club and Sewing Club.
Visitation will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky at 9:00am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00am. The funeral will be officiated by Jim Stauffer.
