Barry Beidelschies Obituary

Barry J. Beidelschies, age 61, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Barry was born on October 23, 1962 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Harold “Harry” and Tillie (Krone) Beidelschies, both of whom have passed away.  He spent his last twenty-two years with his long-time companion and best friend, Margie Shoemaker, who passed away on September 13, 2023. 

Barry is survived by his 2 brothers, Steve (Pat) Beidelschies of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Randy (Marjorie) Beidelschies of Kenyon, Minnesota, and many nieces, and nephews, along with Margie’s children, Lynsey, Luke, and Ivy. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, loving companion Margie, and a sister, Linda Holcomb.

Barry was a 1981 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, where he participated and excelled in football and basketball.  Upon graduation, Barry attended the University of Toledo, until the untimely death of his mother, Tillie. After which, Barry came home to help with the family business, The Alibi Room, in Upper Sandusky.

Barry has been a familiar face in many of the restaurants of Upper Sandusky through the years.  His pleasant smile and demeanor, along with the skill of his craft, brought many back to see Barry, time and time again.

For hobbies, Barry enjoyed all sports, he was an avid Chargers football fan, listening to all types of music and going to concerts. He also had a secret passion for writing poems, and lyrics to songs, including collaborations with his brother Randy.

A Gathering to Celebrate the Life of Barry J. Beidelschies will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions in memory of Barry can be made to the funeral home to help with his final expenses and can be sent to Lucas Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
