Barbara G. Freeman, age 79, of Carey, and formerly of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Barbara was born on April 29, 1943 in Marion, Ohio, to Howard and Dorothea (Barkley) Schwaderer, both of whom are deceased. She married Donald “Don” Freeman on June 3, 1962 and he passed away on July 19, 2017.
She is survived by 4 children: Allen (Jessie) Freeman, Ron (Kim) Freeman, both of Marion, Stephanie (Andy) Niederkohr of Carey, and Jason Freeman of Marion. 10 grandchildren: Cheliesa (Dylan) Vehrs, Alec Ogg, Patyn Ogg, Brandon Freeman, Sarah (Alan) Patterson, Michael (Annie) Starcher, Troy Starcher, Aaron Stoneburner and Casey Stoneburner, Ashley (Michael) Nye, along with 13 great-grandchildren.
Barbara is also survived by 2 sisters, Martha Bender of Marion, and Patricia (Ron) Thompson of Wittmann, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, and a grandson Rylan Ogg.
Barbara retired as a switchboard operator for Marion General Hospital having worked there for over 20 years. She was a 1961 graduate of Pleasant High School and a member of the Prospect Street United Methodist Church in Marion, and of the 11 Meter Club in Marion.
For hobbies, she enjoyed scrapbooking, ceramics, quilting, flower gardening, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services for Barbara Freeman will be held at 1:00pm Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 2 hours before service time on Monday, 11:00am to 1:00pm, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
