William R. "Rick" Adams

William Richard "Rick" Adams, age 92, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:10am at the Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

Rick, also known by "Ace", was born on October 11, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, to William and Jennie (Owen) Adams.  He married Marie Adams on October 27, 1949 in Greenup, Kentucky, and she survives.

He is survived by his son William C. (Edna) Adams of Bucyrus, and 4 grandchildren, Michael (Brenda) Adams, Tammy (Carrie Waltzman) Adams, Brenda (Jerry) Presley, and Peggy Rule. Along with 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great greatgrandchild, and his 2 nephews, J. Michael (Jean) Smalley, and Jonathan (Cathy) Smalley

He was preceded in death by a daughter Carol Adams, and a sister Phyllis Smalley.

Rick was 21 year veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany, Japan, and Vietnam, retiring as a Staff Sargeant.

Upon returning to Nevada, Rick opened Ace Engine and Mower Repair, and also drove truck in his retirement.

Rick was a member of the American Legion Nevada Post 462, and past member of the Nevada Council, along with serving on various committees through the years.

For hobbies, Rick liked to hunt and fish, especially the last 10 years with Dale Sipe. He also enjoyed his ham and cb radios, and reading, especially military history. In his younger years, Rick enjoyed stock car driving and riding motorcycles.

Rick will be remembered for his kind and loving spirit that he had for all people.  He will be greatly missed.

Graveside Services for Williams Richard Adams will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Nevada Cemetery with his son, William Adams officiating.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard following the services.
