William R. Outhwaite, age 64, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 8:15pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Bill was born on May 24, 1949 in Tiffin, Ohio to Roland and Doris (Wilson) Outhwaite both of whom are deceased. He married Joyce Long on November 3, 1968 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and she survives.

Bill is also survived by two sisters, Sharon (Wayne) Davis of Iron Station, North Carolina and Debra (Robert) Land of Hudson, North Carolina, along with two nephews, Christopher (April) Davis and Spencer (Ivannia) Davis and eight grand nieces and nephews.

Bill was a graduate of Marion Harding High School in 1968. He then went on to serve in the Army during the Vietnam Era where he served with the 56th Artillery Brigade, Bismark Schwaebish Gmuend, Germany

He has worked for the past 30 years at Guardian Industries in Upper Sandusky. He was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for over 40 years.


Bill will always be remembered for his love of riding his motorcycle and had ridden throughout the United States. He was a former member of the Goldwing Road riders Association and the local Wyandot Wings and also his love for bologna, chips, coke and watching television.

Bill also had a love for tigers, from the large to the smaller feline type, and that would be their cats, referred to by his wife as their "babies", Tiger, Tinkerbelle, Toby, Teka and Taffee.
His hobbies included having various collections, ranging from die cast cars, hats, knives, belt buckles and cigarette lighters, and western square dancing with his wife, having danced for 25 years with the Marion Hicks N Chicks, and the former Wyandot Squares Club in Upper Sandusky.


Funeral services for William R. Outhwaite will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Joe Trester officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada, Ohio with full military graveside rites being conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, from 2:00pm - 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and one hour before service time at the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday.
