William J. Morgan, age 83, of Nevada, Ohio , passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12:38PM at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio.
Bill was born on August 19, 1929 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Charles and Lorraine (Beard) Morgan both of whom are deceased. He was once married to Judy Barnhart and she survives.
Bill is survived by a daughter Chastity Kay (Ernie Webber) Powers of Galion and two granddaughters, Kaylee Powers and Megan Powers.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Robert Morgan and James Morgan.
Bill worked for 23 years as the Village Marshall for Nevada, and Street Superintendant for Over 20 Years. Before that Bill owned and operated Morgan's Wrecker Service and sold used cars also in Nevada. And most recently he worked for
The Bull Pen Auction.
He was affiliated with the Nevada Methodist Church and was a graduate of Nevada High School class of 1948. Bill was a member of the Vintage American Racecar Club and for hobbies he enjoyed midget racecars, having won the Silver Crown Championship in 1952.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, Ohio.
