William D. Graham

Marion and of rural Nevada

William D. Graham, age 95 of Marion, and formerly of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 6:30pm at the Marion Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marion.

Bill was born on March 10, 1925 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Russell and Mary (Patton) Graham.  He married Virginia M. Rhodes on November 30, 1946 in the Wyandot Baptist Church and she passed away on November 13, 1991.

He is survived by a daughter Mollie Graham and her partner, Deborah Bond of Cincinnati, Ohio, his brother in law, Denny and Suzann Rhodes of Hampstead, NC.

Along with Bill's special family Mary Kathryn Bower, Dave and Val Bower, and their children, Brian, Brooke and Brandy.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother Robert Graham, and his 5 sisters, Kathryn Eaton, Mary Slack, Bonnie Brown, Dorothy Heinlen and Grace Graham.

Bill graduated from Harpster High School and immediately was drafted into the US Navy during World War II having served on the USS Orion and the USS Gilmore.

He retired after 38 years as a general foreman with the former Marion Power Shovel – Dresser Industries in Marion, Ohio.

He was a member of the former Wyandot Baptist Church, life member of the VFW Post 7201, Marion, 50 year member of the Knights of Pythias, and the management club of Dresser Industries.

Bill enjoyed attending all Ridgedale High School sporting events throughout the years.

Funeral services for William D. Graham will be private with burial taking place at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
