William Paul Ervin

William Paul Ervin, age 82, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 5:45 pm at his home in Nevada.

Paul was born on October 23, 1932 in Garrison, Kentucky, to Russell and Ruth (Stone) Ervin, both of whom are deceased. He married Joan F. Liles on August 22, 1953 in Garrison, and she survives.

He is survived by 4 children: Randy (Felecia) Ervin of Bucyrus, Ohio, Anthony Ervin of Nevada, Rita (Angelo) Marocco of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Pam (Troy) Richey of Upper Sandusky, 8 grandchildren, Taylor Ervin, Haley Ervin, Anna Marocco and Cale Richey, Caitlin Harper, Clay Richey, Clint Richey and Cayla Richey., along with 4 great grandchildren, Moses Harper, Titus Harper, Hannah Richey and Corbin Richey.

Paul is also survived by a brother, David (Sherrie) Ervin of Three Forks, Montana, and a sister, Naomi Bear of South Shore, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dorce and a sister Anna Mae Heineman.

Paul retired from Ohio Locomotive Crane in Bucyrus, and before that he had worked for many years for Humphries Manufacturing in Mansfield.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War.

For hobbies, Paul enjoyed woodworking, reading, especially westerns, traveling, following sports, especially the Reds, Browns and the Buckeyes. He also enjoyed
going out to eat with his wife, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services for William Paul Ervin will be held on 1:30pm Wednesday,
August 26, 2015 at the Globe Funeral Home in Garrison, Kentucky. Burial will follow services at the Willis-Cooper Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Globe Funeral Home in Garrison, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and can be sent locally to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 401 S. Main St. Nevada, Ohio, 44849.
