William David "Bill" Martin

William David "Bill" Martin, age 69, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 9:55am at his home in Upper Sandusky.

Bill was born on January 13, 1941 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Maurice "Bud" and Emma (David) Martin, both of whom are deceased. He was first married to Barbara Bauer, and they were divorced. He then married Sue Preble and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Bill is also survived by 2 daughters, Mary (James) Bolin of Mansfield, and Laura (David) Fullen of Hilliard. Grandchildren, Alex and Maggie Bolin, Abby and Emma Fullen and 2 step grandchildren, Matt and Jason Fullen. Also surviving is a step daughter, Chris Turney of Upper Sandusky and step grandchildren, Brice Turney and Erica Turney and a step great grandson, Kaden Young. He is also survived by a sister Maurine (Jerre) Wall of Upper Sandusky, a brother, Tom (Betty) Martin of Upper Sandusky, and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by a sister and brother in-law Susan and Bill Dunn.

Bill was a registered professional engineer in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois having worked for Marathon Pipeline Co, Ashland Pipeline Co, The Fairfield Engineering Company, B.C. & G. Weithman and most recently with San-Con Industries, Inc. in Upper Sandusky, having just retired after many years.

He was a graduate of Tri-State College and Upper Sandusky High School in 1959. He was a member of the Bucyrus Elks #156, social member of the Carey VFW Post #3759 and Upper AMVETS #777, and the Carey Eagles #2198. For hobbies Bill enjoyed cooking and reading.

Funeral services for William D. "Bill" Martin will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 24, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Joe Trester officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be Friday, July 23, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Wyandot County, or First Lutheran Church and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
