Wesley L. Honsberger, age 93, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Bridge Hospice Center in Findlay, Ohio.
Wesley was born on October 2, 1932 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Burton and Mary (Stevens) Honsberger, both of whom are deceased. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rowland, of 69 years, and children, Darla (Steve) Romich, of Upper Sandusky, and her children,
Eric (Angie) Romich, Craig (Bre) Romich, Courtney (Curtis) Sebenoler, all of Upper Sandusky, and 6 great grandchildren, Ava, Jacob, Adlee, Rylan, Weslie, and Lettie, along with a son, Lonny Honsberger in Upper Sandusky.
He is also survived by his sister, Pat (Dave) Jury of Bucyrus, brother in law Owen Snyder of Marion, Indiana.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Clara Jean Snyder, Rita Snyder, Collen Seckel and a brother, John Honsberger.
Wesley graduated from Lykens High School in Crawford County, where in participated in basketball and other sports in school. Soon after graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he fought in the front lines, served in the Military Police division of the service, and served as a guard during the peace talks at Panmunjom, between North and South Korea. Upon his discharge from the service, Wesley came back to Crawford County, and started working for the former Millington Plastics and ended up retiring from Worthington Plastics in 1997.
He was also a lifelong farmer and fisherman, who enjoyed working on the farm, and who loved fishing at Whitefish Falls in Canada, and also his pond on the farm.
Wesley was a member of the Central Ohio Travel Club and spent 21 winters in Florida, where he enjoyed the beach, horseshoe pitching, and being around the campfire with many of his friends.
He was also a man of faith, and served as a trustee, and was instrumental in the building of Wayside Chapel in Bucyrus, and Wildwood Chapel in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial services for Wesley L. Honsberger will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Betsy Bowen. Burial will follow at Rowland Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.
Visitations for Wesley will be held one hour before service time on Friday at the funeral home.
