Wendy Kay Hushour, age 54, of rural Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at 3:15pm at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Wendy was born on March 2, 1956 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Ralph J. and Ikena (Miller) Grady both of whom are deceased. She married Lyn Hushour on November 24, 1972 and they divorced in 1981.
She is survived by a son, Steven P. Hushour of Upper Sandusky, and a very special friend and companion since May of 1981, Powell Perkins of Dansville, Michigan and Powell's children, Michelle ( Dr. Michael) McDermott, Mary Jo Perkins, and Lisa (Jeff) Booher.
Wendy is also survived by three sisters, Jean (William F.) Hertzer of Tiffin, Ohio, Sue Will of Upper Sandusky, and Judy (Larry) Secoy of Upper Sandusky, and a sister in law, Joyce Grady of Willoughby Hills, Ohio and nieces and nephews, Cindy Barnet, Kenneth (Ed) Will, Greg Will, Jerry Will, Julie Novak, Patricia Grady, Christopher Secoy, Spencer Secoy, and Jackie Ritorto Secoy, and many great nieces and nephews.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Larry Grady, a brother in law, Kenneth Will, a nephew, Billy Hertzer, and a son of Powell's Anthony Perkins.
Wendy graduated from Mohawk High School in 1974. She then went on to work at the former Coupled Products/Continental Hose from October 27, 1978 to November 2, 2007 as a test lab technician.
Some of Wendy's hobbies include sketching and painting, observing wildlife (except snakes!), weather watching, the rising and setting of the sun, rainbows, photography, gardening, fishing, hunting mushrooms, and the sights of Wyandot County - especially the eagles and the Sandusky River. She also enjoys the company of her kitties, Chessie and Nemo and most important in her life is her son, family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Wendy Kay Hushour will be held a 1:00pm Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, September 30, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County, Trinity Evangelical UMC, or a charity of the donors choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
