Wanda M. Courtad, age 79, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on March 26, 1932 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Gerald and Bessie (Dummit) Beamer, both of whom are deceased. She married James R. "Dick" Courtad on October 22, 1949 in Upper Sandusky by the Rev. Norman Folk and Dick passed away on December 4, 2009.

Also surviving are 2 sons, James A. (Lorraine) Courtad of Upper Sandusky and Jeffrey R. (Wendy) Courtad of Upper Sandusky, along with 4 daughters, Diane M. Pfeifer of Upper Sandusky, Patricia A. (Dan) Gregg of Sycamore, Ramona L. "Mony" (Curt) Stansberry of Upper Sandusky, Lisa J. (Terry) Ousley of Ashland, Ohio. 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Wanda is also survived by 4 brothers, Dale (JoAnn) Beamer of Toledo, Wayne (Thena) Beamer of Manteca, California, Darrel (Nancy) Beamer of Laredo, Texas, Glenn Beamer of Middletown, Ohio, and 2 sisters, Martha (Lloyd) Bennethum of Galion and Shirley (Lowell) Bear of West Chester, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Ethel Frost.

Wanda was a homemaker and a long time member of the former Rock Run Church of God in Upper Sandusky where she was the pianist, organist and secretary for the church. She attended Nevada Schools and for hobbies she enjoyed baking, sewing, painting, reading, crossword puzzles, playing the piano and sitting on the front porch with her husband Dick.

She will be remembered for her love for her husband and her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Wanda M. Courtad will be held at 11:00am Thursday, March 1, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, February 29, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund of the Wyandot County Nursing Home or Otyokwah Church Camp and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
